Jeffrey S. Chapman writes fiction and comics from just north of Detroit. His story collection Everyone Is Lost won the 2026 BOA Short Fiction Prize and is forthcoming from BOA Editions.
His stories and comics have appeared in dozens of literary journals, including Black Warrior Review, The Florida Review, CutBank, and South Dakota Review.
Chapman is an associate professor of creative writing at Oakland University. He holds an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College and a PhD in creative writing from the University of Utah.
His honors include a Kresge Artist Fellowship and a Sustainable Arts Foundation Award. He is currently at work on a novel.
